Muslim League is completely secular - Rahul Gandhi statement strongly condumned
"Muslim League is a completely secular party, there is nothing non-secular about the Muslim League..." said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in his US tour at a press conference in Washington DC, on being asked about Congress's alliance with Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) in Kerala.
This statement has rasied huge outrage in India, especially BJP has come out strongly against Rahul Gandhi statement.
BJP MP Tejasvi Surya said, Even the Muslim League will not defend their secular credentials with the intensity that Rahul Gandhi is defending them. The transition of the Congress from a mainstream party to the extreme fringe is complete with Rahul Gandhi defending the indefensible. In other words, Rahul Gandhi has only parroted the the Nehruvian Secular construct, that the Hindu is communal and Muslim is secular, in twitter.
Reacting on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's statement in US, UP deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya said, "2024 elections are ahead, whatever he (Rahul Gandhi) wants to say, he should come here among the public and speak. Why he is insulting the nation on foreign soil? He must apologise for this,".
